The countdown for the launch has been started.

The RC390 will borrow its frame and engine from the Duke 390 while the RC200 would derive its hardware from the Duke 200. The RC390's 373.3 cc engine is capable of 42.9 bhp and 35 Nm of torque while the smaller sportsbike's 200 cc unit is good for 25.4 bhp and 19.2 Nm of torque. The duo come equipped with a six-speed gearbox.

2. WP suspension system

The RC390 comes shod with Metzeler tyres while the RC200 gets MRF rubbers.

The track-inspired RC twins are equipped with a potent WP suspension system which includes sturdy inverted telescopic forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear. Further improving the dynamic capability of the RC390 are the Metzeler tyres which are known to offer impressive road holding capability. The RC200 makes do with MRF rubbers.

3. Dual headlamp elements with LED DRLs

Dual headlamps and LED DRL units are the styling highlights.

The sharp-edged front fascia houses dual headlamp elements and LED daytime running light units. The designs of both bikes are pretty much similar which means the only noticeable differentiating factor is the color theme and badges.

4. Aggressive riding stance

The riding posture of the RC twins is more aggressive than that of the Dukes.

While the Duke twins offer an upright riding stance typical of street fighters, the RC couple has a lean forward posture which makes for a sportier appeal.

5. Steeper steering angle and reduced wheelbase

The steering angle and wheelbase have been altered to improve handling characteristics.

In order to make the fully faired motorcycles switch direction more readily, KTM engineers have increased the steering angle from the Duke's 65º to 66.5º and reduced the wheelbase by 27 mm.
