IAB Report - 260 km/h Range Rover Sport SVR revealed [Video]

The Range Rover Sport SVR has a starting price of USD 110,475 (around INR 67.51 lakhs).

The Range Rover Sport SVR which is slated to debut at Pebble Beach 2014 in production guise this week has made its online debut. The performance SUV is the first product by JLR's newly found Special Operations division and is also the first product to wear the high performance 'SVR' badge.

The SUV made its dynamic debut at the Goodwood FOS in June as a disguised prototype. Visually, the Range Rover Sport SVR can be differentiated by means of the new bumper with trapezoidal air intakes, black grille, dark Range Rover badge on the bonnet which also features revised hood vents.

At the side, a unique fender vent design and crease lines are the telling differences. At the rear, the SVR badge, roof mounted spoiler and glossy black diffuser with quad exhaust tips are the highlights of the performance derivative.

Inside, the Range Rover Sport SVR comes with 14-way electrically adjustable front sport seats and redesigned rear seats which offer room for the "occasional" fifth passenger. The SVR branded seats are upholstered in Oxford leather with quilted centers and Ebony Black top stitching. Interior color options include Ebony Black and Cirrus White; Ebony Black and Pimento Red; and Ebony Black and Tan.

The SUV is powered by a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine that pushes out 550 PS and 680 Nm of torque. Mated to a 8-speed ZF transmission that sends power to all the four wheels, the fastest Land Rover accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds on its way to an electronically controlled track top speed of 259.2 km/h (162 mph).

Special Operations has tweaked the hardware to make the car go faster around a race track and as a result the Sport SVR emerges as the fastest production SUV on the Nurburgring with an astonishing lap time of 8 minutes 14 seconds.
