The car is produced at Maruti’s Manesar plant.
Maruti has started production of the Ciaz sedan in full swing. According to a report, the first batch of cars are ready, and the dealer dispatch could begin soon.
The Ciaz is likely to receive power from the 1.4-liter K-Series petrol engine (seen on the Ertiga), and the 1.3-liter Fiat-sourced Multijet diesel engine in the 90 PS state of tune. The petrol engine could also receive the option of a CVT gearbox apart from a manual unit.
The Ciaz would be available in three trims – VXi/VDi, VXi+/VDi+ and ZXi/ZDi. All variants are reported to get projector headlights as standard fitment. The top-end trim would benefit from dual airbags, ABS, EBD, 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, keyless entry with engine starter button, multifunction steering wheel and a rear AC vent.
The Ciaz is expected to launch next month, and pre-launch bookings should start sometime soon.
