The KTM RC390 would come first followed by the RC200.

The unofficial 'KTM RC390 - India' Facebook page which is known to deliver credible KTM India related news has reported that the RC390 would be launched on September 9.

It's to be noted that a Facebook fanpage of a KTM dealership in India has also announced that the launch would happen in early September.

The RC390 is a track-bred version of the Duke 390. The fully faired sportsbike retains the Duke's 373.2 cc single-cylinder liquid cooled engine which employs fuel-injection to extract 42.9 bhp and 35 Nm of torque. A six-speed gearbox transfers the power.

The KTM RC390 is powered by the Duke 390's engine that puts out 42.9 bhp and 35 Nm of torque.

In terms of looks, the RC390 has no traces of its street fighter sibling as the inspiration comes from the brand's Moto3 race bike. Design highlights include a sharp face with LED daytime running lights, twin headlamp elements, exposed frame, rear view mirrors with integrated turn indicators (reduces drag) and a steeply raked tail.

The aggressive riding position promotes track riding and the WP suspension system and Metzeler tyres further enhance its capabilities, though we don't imagine the Indian target customer would take it to a track often.

The KTM RC200 which is based on the Duke 200 is expected to follow the RC390, possibly in the festive season. The dealer preview of the bikes are set to happen this month.

Competitors: Kawasaki Ninja 300

Expected Price: INR 2.4 lakhs, ex-showroom
