IAB Report – Hyundai Elite i20 surpasses 12,000 orders in 15 days

The Hyundai Elite i20 whose bookings opened on August 1, ahead of its launch on 11th, has garnered over 12,000 orders in the first 15 days of the price announcement. As of 12th August, the new hatchback clocked 4,600 bookings.
The Elite i20’s petrol variants range between INR 4.89 lakhs – 6.46 lakhs while the diesel variants are priced from INR 6.09 lakhs to INR 7.66 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). However, the prices are introductory.
The second gen global premium hatch adopts the Fluidic Design V2.0 philosophy which has nothing in common with the old car, both inside and outside. The international version is slightly longer though.
Powering the Elite i20 are the 1.2-litre Kappa2 petrol engine and the 1.4-litre CRDI motor. The petrol unit develops 83 PS (81.8 bhp) and 115 Nm of torque and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. An automatic petrol variant would be introduced at a later stage.
The diesel engine puts out 90 PS (88.73 bhp) and 220 Nm of torque, transmitting power via a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The equipment list includes a 2-DIN audio system, rear AC vents, automatic climatic control, start/stop button, auto folding ORVMs, dual airbags, ABS, rear parking camera with sensors, automatic headlamps and 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.
