The production version of the Hyundai ix25 mini SUV was spotted in China recently ahead of its market launch which is reported to take place on October 9.
As detailed in a previous post, the production ix25 has a few changes compared to the concept which was shown at the Beijing Motor Show. Minor tweaks to the lights, bumpers and skid guards are as far as the changes go.
The ix25 will get two engine options, both running on petrol for the Chinese market. The base engine is a 1.6-liter unit while the more powerful engine displaces 2.0-liter. The engines will be paired to manual and automatic gearboxes (most likely 6-speed units). Hyundai are expected to launch the ix25 in a total of seven variants, and at least three variants would get an AWD system.
In China, the ix25 is expected to cost an Indian equivalent between INR 12.56 lakhs and INR 18.36 lakhs.
Expect Hyundai's compact SUV to enter India next year.
