Tata Motors launched the Tata Movus MPV today, with prices starting at INR 6.99 lakhs for the base variant (ex-Showroom, New Delhi).
The Movus is available in 7-, 8- and 9-seater configurations with front-facing, side-facing and captain seat options. The Movus, technically a Sumo Grande, will be an entry-level utility vehicle, says Tata.
Power for the Movus comes from a 2.2-liter four-cylinder VARICOR engine producing 120 PS and 250 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Tata claims the Movus will do 15.16 km/l and say they have fitted a new rack and pinion steering and a new 260 mm diameter concentric sleeve cylinder with a self actuating clutch for improved life.
Mr. Ranjit Yadav, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors, said –
As an entry-level UV, the all-new Movus, a big and reliable vehicle comes at a price point which will provide our customers with best-in-class ride quality, making it a perfect partner for every journey. The vehicle is commercially available at dealerships located in metros and select cities.
