The Kia Picanto Quantum Special Edition was launched in the UK market yesterday. The special edition will be made solely as a three-door model and that too only in a Titanium Silver metallic paintwork.
Feature additions in the Quantum edition include black cloth interior upholstery, 15-inch five-round-spoke alloy wheels, automatic air conditioning, keyless entry system with engine start/stop button, electric sliding and tilting sunroof, electrically folding, adjustable and heated wing mirrors with LED turn lights, foglights, a 6-speaker audio system, body-colored side sill mouldings, automatic headlights, reversing sensors, LED ambient interior lighting and a UV solar windscreen glass to reduce glare.
The Picanto Quantum is powered by a 1,248 cc petrol engine that produces 84 bhp of power and 120 Nm of torque. It comes paired to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The Quantum manual version costs 11,895 pounds (INR 12.2 lakhs) while the Quantum automatic is priced at 12,495 pounds (INR 12.81 lakhs).
The manual can achieve a top-speed of 106 mph (170 km/h) and accelerates from 0-60 mph (0-98 km/h) in 11.0 seconds. The automatic does 0-60 mph in 12.9 seconds and has a top-speed of 101 mph (161 km/h).
The Picanto is based on the Hyundai i10 and was spotted testing around the Hyundai Chennai plant two years ago.
