BMW Group, Mini, will be premiering the 2015 Mini Countryman facelift at the New York Auto Show which commences today.
On the outside, designers have reserved changes to LED daytime running lights, a tweaked grille, new alloy wheel designs, LED foglights, three new body colors, and underbody guards (available only on all wheel drive variants).
Mechanically, all variants of the Countryman now comply to Euro 6 emission norms. The Countryman Cooper S produces an additional 6 hp from its 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engine. This variant now produces 190 hp and 240 Nm of torque, and as a result, is quicker to 0-100 km/h by 0.1 second at 7.8 seconds and the top-speed is higher by 4 km/h at 214 km/h.
Inside, the refreshed Countryman gains Mini’s new infotainment system and some chrome on the switchgear. The refreshed Countryman will go on sale in Germany in July this year. In India, BMW locally assembles the Countryman from CKD kits at its Chennai facility. Apart from selling the Countryman S, BMW India also sells the Countryman diesel and Countryman One. Prices of the Countryman in India range from INR 26.55 lakhs to INR 38.75 lakhs, ex-Showroom.
