Rolls-Royce Motor Cars world premiered the refreshed Ghost Series II at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show earlier this month. The refresh brings about subtle tweaks to the design and features of the luxury car with the major talking point being the newly designed headlights.
The Ghost Series II will go on sale in the UK by the middle of this year, while the Indian launch will take place before November 2014, a source informs Indian Autos Blog. There are no mechanical changes to the engine of the Ghost Series II which is still powered by a 6.6-liter V12 motor producing 563 bhp and 780 Nm of torque.
The Ghost Series II accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds while the top-speed is limited to 250 km/h. Rolls-Royce have updated the transmission pairing it to the satellite system. The transmission is thus able to pre-select gears based on the type of road ahead. This technology was first seen on the Rolls-Royce Wraith.
The Ghost is based on parent BMW’s 7 Series platform. Rolls-Royce have put this platform to good use with the Ghost and the Wraith, the latter being a luxury sportscar rivaling the Bentley Continental GT. Most recently, Rolls-Royce launched the Ghost V-Specification in India pricing it at INR 5.2 crores (ex-showroom). The V-Spec Ghost produces an additional 30 bhp of power from its 6.6-liter V12 engine.
