Jaguar recently introduced a special edition for the XK in Germany to commemorate 66 years of the model’s existence. The original XK120 was introduced at the London Motor Show back in 1948.
Dubbed as the XK66 Special Edition, the car will be available in both coupe and convertible body styles and will be limited to choice of only two exterior colours – British Racing Green or Stratus.
Production is limited to 66 units with the models based on the XK Portfolio variant which is powered by a 5.0-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine producing 380 bhp.
To distinguish the XK66 from other XK models, Jaguar has added Union Jack emblems, chrome mirror caps, 20-inch Orona polished alloy wheels, with the option of black or beige fabric roofs for the convertible variant.
Inside you will find a plate which reads “XK66 One of 66”, aluminium shift paddles, along with the option of choosing between Warm Charcoal leather with Ivory contrast stitching or Caramel soft grain leather with Warm Charcoal contrast stitching. Other features include tire pressure monitoring system, adaptive headlights, and rearview camera.
The Jaguar XK66 Special Edition coupe will cost from 99,380 euros (INR 84.5 Lakhs) while the convertible will be starting at 107,580 euros (INR 91.5 lakhs) with sales beginning from May.
Jaguar had recently confirmed that it will terminate production of the XK in the coming months. The successor, though not in sight, will move up the ladder to become bigger and more luxurious than the current model.
