The new Corolla, like its predecessor, will be available with a petrol and diesel engine option. Both engines are carried over from the previous model. The petrol Corolla, powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder with Dual VVT-i produces 140 PS of power at 6,400 rpm and comes mated to a 6-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox.

The petrol model will be offered in five trim levels: J, G, G CVT, GL and VL. All variants get rear reclining seat, brake assist, rear foglight and a rear power socket as new features over the older model. The top-end model is given features such as automatic wipers, LED headlights, 7-inch multimedia system with integrated navigation, 16-inch alloy wheels and reverse camera.

The diesel Corolla is powered by a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine producing 88.4 PS at 3,800 rpm and comes with a 6-speed manual transmission. The diesel will be offered in four trims - J, J(S), G and GL - with a similar features split like the petrol model.

Overall, it seems that Toyota plans to continue a similar variant lineup as that of the outgoing model. Sources indicate a price increase of about INR 30,000-50,000 over the predecessor.
