Renault will enter the people-carrier segment, competing against the likes of segment leader Maruti Ertiga and upcoming Honda Mobilio, with the Renault Lodgy. The Lodgy is a Dacia product, that was rebadged as a Renault for Ukraine last year, and it is said to enter into production this December at the alliance plant in Oragadam, Chennai, and be launched early in 2015, according to several leading media reports.

Renault Lodgy
The Lodgy is set to enter production in India this December and be launched early in 2015.

However, the Lodgy will be sold in India only under the Renault badge and the MPV will not be shared with Nissan which has the Evalia for the same segment, that it also recently updated.

The Lodgy is likely to get the same 1.6-liter petrol and 1.5-liter diesel engines as the Duster. The 1.5-liter K9K engine series is already being manufactured at the same plant and serves eight products from the alliance.

It must be noted that at present, a right-hand-drive variant of the Lodgy isn't sold anywhere in the world. When the car goes into production in Chennai, it might even be exported to the UK and Ireland under the Dacia brand, just like the Duster.

Datsun Redi-Go side at Auto Expo 2014
Renault's A-Entry hatchback will share the alliance's CMF platform with the Datsun redi-GO concept.

Renault's second product, an A-segment entry car, will share the Renault-Nissan CMF platform with the Datsun redi-GO concept that made its debut at the Auto Expo 2014 to be positioned under the Pulse. The Maruti Alto rival is expected shortly after the Lodgy sets sail in India.
