Mercedes-Benz has officially revealed the S-Class Coupe, which will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month. It will replace the current CL-Class.
The stylish two door sports car is based on the virtually unaltered breathtaking design of the Concept S-Class Coupe. It has a length of 5,027 mm, width of 1,899 mm, height of 1,411 mm and features a wheelbase of 2,945 mm.
The New Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe can be optionally equipped with the MAGIC BODY CONTROL suspension system with curve tilting function that allows the car to lean into bends much like a motorcyclist. However don’t expect this feature when the car eventually lands in India due to the prohibition of private radar usage.
Also available as an option are full-LED headlamps that feature 47 Swarovski crystals – 17 angular crystals form the flare-shaped daytime running lamps, with 30 round-shaped crystals making up the turn indicator lamps. Additional technical highlights include the full-colour head-up display and the touch pad feature.
The S-Class Coupe will receive numerous new assistance systems seen on the S-Class sedan like the PRE-SAFE brake with pedestrian detection, DISTRONIC PLUS with Steer Assist and Stop & Go Pilot, BAS PLUS with junction assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive High-beam Assist Plus, Night View Assist Plus and Collision Prevention Assist PLUS.
At the time of launch the S-Class Coupe will be available in the S500 variant powered by a 4,663 cc V8 biturbo engine that generates 455 hp of power and 700 Nm of torque. The driving experience will be further enhanced by the emotive sound of the exhaust system, which features flaps that open or close at the driver’s will to control the noise output.
