Report - Hyundai India rejigs Verna variants, new CX trim launched at INR 8.07 lakhs

Hyundai India has rejigged the variant lineup of the Verna. Certain trim levels have been deleted, while a new CX trim is added on the 1.4-liter petrol and diesel variants.

The Verna CX is offered on the 1.4-liter petrol and diesel versions.

The CX trim is offered with the 1.4-liter petrol and diesel engines. It comes only with the manual transmission. The Hyundai Verna CX gets features such as a rear view camera integrated on the electro-chromatic rear view mirror, steering mounted music controls, auto AC, rear disc brakes, ABS, driver airbag, diamond cut alloy wheels and power folding wing mirrors.

The Verna CX 1.4 petrol costs INR 8.07 lakhs while the CX 1.4 diesel costs INR 9.28 lakhs (ex-Showroom, New Delhi).

Hyundai has discontinued the Verna 1.4 petrol EX and Verna 1.4 diesel EX trims. The Verna 1.6 petrol EX AT, 1.6 petrol SX (O) AT and Verna 1.6 diesel EX AT trims have also been stopped. Instead, the automatic transmission is now available on the mid-level Verna 1.6 petrol SX AT and the Verna 1.6 diesel SX AT.

Features wise, the Verna 1.6 EX gets all the features of the Verna 1.4 CX minus alloy wheels and power folding wing mirrors. The 1.6 SX gets features available on the CX plus dual airbags, 16-inch alloy wheels and a chilled glovebox. The top-end SX (O) is the SX with added features such as side and curtain airbags, push button start, automatic headlight control and projector headlights.
