The Mahindra Scorpio facelift continues to be tested, and here are more spy images courtesy of Motoroids readers Paranjay Dutt, Dolan Christopher and Prashant Kumar.

The refreshed Scorpio should launch by the end of this year.

These images do not reveal anything new or interesting about the refreshed Scorpio. The only odd bit is that the front bumper of this test mule appears to be from the Xylo MPV.

We should see the Scorpio facelift launch by the end of this year. This facelift exercise will extend the life of the SUV by about a couple of years, by which time, Mahindra should have readied the next generation model.

Below is our earlier story on the Scorpio facelift

The 2014 Mahindra Scorpio facelift was expected to be shown at the Auto Expo. However, the only exhibits that were seen at Mahindra's stall were the XUV500 diesel hybrid concept and a Quanto with an AMT system.

The Scorpio facelift continues to test and we expect to see it launch by the end of this year.

Mahindra is clearly in no mood to show the refreshed Scorpio as yet, and continues testing the car with camouflage. Seen here is a prototype caught on test in the outskirts of Chennai (where Mahindra has an R&D center) by our reader, Mr. Gokulraj of MyCopie.

The Scorpio spotted here sports taillights from the current model. However, Mahindra will redesign these lights, and if a previous spy image is to be referenced, the Scorpio facelift will get LED taillights.

Interior spy images show that the Scorpio will move upmarket with a new steering wheel (inspired by the XUV500), a revised dashboard with newly designed AC vents and a new center console. A modern and upgraded instrument cluster was also spotted in one of the images.

Mechanically, the Scorpio facelift will retain its 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine, though emissions and fuel efficiency could be improved. This engine produces 120 bhp and 290 Nm of torque, and is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Scorpio is sold with 2WD and 4WD configurations.
