IAB Report – Nissan Sunny facelift launched in Thailand, India debut at Auto Expo
Shrawan Raja, I'm the Founder & CEO of IndianAutosBlog.com. I love teamwork and talking about cars.
The Nissan Sunny facelift launched in Thailand yesterday with a handful of cosmetic updates. Nissan India earlier confirmed that the Sunny facelift would be brought to the Auto Expo (starts on February 5 in Greater Noida) and we reckon this is the car they are talking of.
Known as the Nissan Almera in Thailand, the facelift gets a redesigned grille that gives it a family feeling among bigger Nissan sedans such as the Altima and Sylphy. The headlamp is shaped differently, and the lower part of the front receives chrome highlighting, along with new foglamps.
Moving to the profile, the only noticeable change is the new pattern on the 15-inch alloy wheel. The rear bumper has been recast, with a “boomerang shape” and a dual tone effect.
Moving indoors, the Sunny facelift is seen having a redesigned central console with a “Piano Black” cluster. It features a 2-DIN radio with a 6.1-inch touchscreen DVD player. The steering wheel is also new.
The drivetrain is the same in Thailand, with the 79hp 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine pairing to either a five-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission. In India, 1.5-liter petrol and diesel engines are used, which should remain same.
Nissan Thailand has raised prices by a small margin, with the new range priced between 433,000-608,000 baht (8.3 lakh rupees to 11.66 lakh rupees) compared to the previous level of 429,000-599,000 baht (8.23 lakh rupees to 11.49 lakh rupees).
