Skoda will unveil the next generation 2015 Fabia towards the end of this year, and possibly at the Paris Motor Show. Production of the new Fabia is reported to start from the fourth quarter of this year at Skoda's Czech manufacturing site in Mlada, Boleslav.
We previously reported that the new Fabia will not use VW's modular MQB platform. Instead, Just Auto reports that Skoda will adapt a new variant of this platform which will fit compact cars the size of the Fabia, Polo and the Seat Ibiza. The architecture is rumored to be known as 'NQV', and the next generation models of the above mentioned cars would also use it.
Skoda's head of development, Dr. Frank Welsch, had earlier revealed that the new Fabia will not change much in terms of its size. Dr. Welsch was quoted saying that the new car would be more attractive in terms of design, while being lower and sporting a wider stance (rumored to be 50 mm wider).
Skoda has acknowledged that the current Fabia traditionally appeals to an older set of audience. The brand aims to balance this by introducing necessary features to give it a 'youthful' appeal.
