After spyshots from the US of the all-new Ford Ka sedan emerged, Noticias Automotivas's rendering artist Rodrigo Losano made a projection of the new sedan. The style of the taillights are inspired by the Focus sedan, while the front is inspired by the new Fiesta and Fusion.

News reports from Brazil claim that the new Figo/Ka twins will be launched next year to replace the Ka and the older gen Fiesta sedan. Ford India would use these vehicles to replace the Figo and the Classic.

According to a senior engineer who spoke to Auto Express last month, Ford will retain the current Figo platform for the next model, rebuilding a shorter version with a lighter type of steel. The EcoSport's 1.0L three-cylinder engine in naturally aspirated and turbocharged variants would be used on the vehicle. Ford could rationalize recent technologies such as the Powershift dual-clutch automatic transmission, SYNC infotainment system, EPAS (power steering), push button start, etc, that are currently unavailable on the Figo or Classic.

Whether Ford will use the plant in Sanand or Chennai to manufacture these products is still unclear. The hatchback can be run alongside the Figo as its a more recent launch and is a volume seller, while the three-box could replace the aging Classic. As these vehicles are lighter and use smaller or more technologically advanced powertrains, we expect them to be considerably better in fuel efficiency and emissions.

Our guess is that Ford India will introduce the new Figo twins in 2015.
