Porsche have released this teaser image asking us "Which car is hiding under this cover?". While many Porsche Facebook fans have answered, some commenting "BMW", or even "Datsun 240Z", Indian Autos Blog readers should have no problem identifying this as the soon to be unveiled Porsche Macan.
The Macan will be available with two petrol engines and a diesel engine. The petrol lineup will consist of a 3.0-liter V6 producing 335 hp and 450 Nm of torque, while a much more powerful 3.6-liter turbocharged V6 producing 394 hp and 550 Nm of torque. Porsche will also offer a 3.0-liter V6 diesel producing 254 hp and 580 Nm of torque.
All variants will get the 7-speed PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) gearbox, which is a dual-clutch unit. In due time, Porsche will also offer the Macan with four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines which currently power the Audi A4, A6 and Q5. A hybrid variant is also believed to be under development for a future launch.
The Macan will compete with other SUVs such as the Range Rover Evoque, Mercedes M Class, BMW X3 and the Audi Q5. The Macan will have its world premiere at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show which kickstarts for the media on November 20th. Stay tuned to Indian Autos Blog for further updates on the Macan.
