BMW 2 Series lineup leaked

BMW South Africa accidentally displayed the official specifications of the upcoming BMW 2 Series, and a member of Bimmer Post forum has downloaded all the details.

The vehicle will be available (at least in South Africa) in 220i, 220d and M235i variants. The website did not reveal any photographs but here’s the lowdown on the specifications –

BMW 220d Coupe

BMW 220d Coupe specifications

The diesel 2 Series Coupe is powered by the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder unit which makes 181HP and 308Nm of torque. Its 0-100kph time is 7.1s on the AT variant, with a top speed of 235kph.

Prices for the diesel variants start at 393,000 Rand which equates to about 22.43 lakh rupees.

BMW 220i Coupe

BMW 220i Coupe specifications

The standard petrol-powered 2 Series Coupe gets a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 181HP and 270Nm of torque, giving it a 0-100kph time of 7s and a top speed of 235kph.

Prices for the 220i start at 366,257 Rand which equates to about 22.68 lakh rupees.

BMW M235i Coupe

BMW M235i Coupe specifications

The M235i will be powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six petrol engine with a power output of 322HP and a torque of 450Nm, giving the model a 0-100kph sprint time of 4.8s in the AT and 5.0s in the manual. Top speed is electronically restricted to 250kph.

Prices for this variant start at 503,079 Rand which equates to about 31.11 lakh rupees.
