The 2014 Range Rover Evoque has world premiered at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. As part of the model year update, the Evoque is now the first Land Rover vehicle (and one of the first in the world as the Jeep Cherokee has not commenced sales yet) to sport a 9-speed automatic gearbox.

With the 9-speed auto, the Evoque has an improved fuel economy of 11.4%, while emissions have been reduced by 9.5%. Another feature contributing to the improved fuel economy is the 'Active Driveline' feature (which is an optional extra) which uses only the front wheels during 'steady-state' driving at speeds above 22mph (35km/h) and can re-engage 4WD in 300 milliseconds if the need arises.

Feature additions in the form of an automatic parking system, Closing Vehicle Sensing, Reverse Traffic Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign recognition and a Wade Sensing system (as seen on the 2014 Range Rover Sport) have been included. Another feature that has been added is the LR InControl system which allows the driver to place an SOS call alerting emergency services about the car’s location in the event of an accident and can also track the vehicle in case of a theft.
