The next generation 2015 Volvo XC90 has been teased by the company during the media presentation of the Volvo Concept Coupé held in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Company officials revealed a few design highlights of the next generation flagship SUV which is due in late 2014. The 2015 XC90 would be the first production model to have been developed under Volvo's parent company, Geely. The Mercedes GL Class rivaling SUV would also be the first Volvo to make use of the SPA (Scalable Platform Architecture) which would eventually underpin cars as small as the S60.

The presentation images show us a lot of promising details. The front of the car is dominated by the T-shaped daytime running lights and the overall design inspiration for the front fascia comes from the Concept Coupe.

Elements used for the taillights are also similar to that of the Coupe and we notice that the long (or rather tall) combination lights cluster, a feature found in all Volvo SUVs, wagons and crossovers, will continue on future models.

The single interior image reveals a huge touchscreen entertainment system, seemingly inspired by Tesla's 17-inch unit offered on the Model S. A single row of buttons below the screen indicate that the cabin would be simplistic, in a typical Swedish way.
