Spied for the first time - 2014 Skoda Superb facelift starts testing in India

The 2014 Skoda Superb facelift was revealed on April 3rd this year and production of the 2014 Superb began only on May 31. And yet here it is: This is the first image of the Superb facelift caught on Indian soil.

Clicked by Autocar India reader Sujay Soman, Skoda India has not camouflaged the car, only the logos and the badge is covered.

The rear of the Superb has been updated quite a lot. It gets LED taillights of a different design, not to mention that the entire bootlid is different. Where the number plate of the old Superb was housed on the rear bumper, it is moved up to the bootlid on the refreshed model.

At the front, the new Superb will feature a differently styled headlamp and front bumper. The hood features a sheet metal change to carry Skoda's new logo.

On the inside, there are a few updates to speak about. Firstly, the steering wheel is available in a total of nine new variations. It is similar to that of the 2013 Skoda Octavia.

Like the cabin of the revised Octavia, the Superb's features new steering wheel, trim and electronic gadgets.

A total of nine new fabrics and patterns have been introduced on the new car while the top of the range L&K variant gets a brown-ivory interior color combination.

It was earlier reported that the facelifted Superb would be introduced in the country come Auto Expo 2014. However, after seeing this spyshot, we think that date may be even closer.
