Through a Twitter upload, Mercedes-Benz has teased the new S Class (even they must be asking why!) but the bigger news is that they've promised more is coming tomorrow.

The global premiere of the 2014 S Class will be held on Wednesday in Germany, and prior to a premiere or unveiling, manufacturers release precursory images for fans to warm up to the car.

Mercedes has promised more on the 2014 Mercedes S Class on Sunday.

Over the past few weeks, the new S Class has already connected with fans of the three-pointed star through brochure leaks, accidental uploads, undisguised spyshots and scale model photographs. The leaked brochure revealed the two lengths the car launches in, with the long wheelbase model measuring 130mm over than the standard wheelbase. The S Class is strictly the long wheelbase model in India.

All engines are paired to a 7-speed automatic transmission. The engine options and variants are as follows.

Mercedes S 350 BlueTEC diesel

  • 3-liter V6 diesel engine
  • 258PS of power at 3,600rpm
  • 620Nm of torque
  • 0-100km/h in 6.8 seconds
  • Top speed restricted to 250km/h
  • Combined fuel efficiency of 6 L/100km (16.67km/l)

Mercedes S 500 petrol

  • 4.7-liter V8 petrol engine
  • 455PS of power at 5,250rpm
  • 700Nm of torque
  • 0-100km/h in 4.8 seconds
  • Top speed limited to 250km/h
  • Combined fuel efficiency of 9.1 L/100km (10.98km/l)

Mercedes S 400 Hybrid

  • 3.5 liter V6 petrol
  • 306PS of power at 6,500rpm
  • 370Nm of torque
  • 0-100km/h in 6.8 seconds
  • Top speed limited to 250km/h
  • Combined efficiency of 6.8 L/100km (14.7km/l)

It usually takes Mercedes Benz 6-8 months to introduce a new addition or replacement in India. A company official had told Indian Autos Blog last year that it was unrealistic to expect the new generation before 2014.
