We have been closely following the new automatic scooter from TVS that is being tested extensively.

The spyshots have been pouring in and with every spyshot a new bit of information crops up. Here is a spy picture from Mr. Prithvijit, an Overdrive.in reader.

Unlike the previous white test mule which was ridden by TVS riders, this one seems to be test-driven by a prospective customer. It's common for two wheeler makers to give the bikes to a select group of customers prior to the launch to get their feedback.

While the camouflage succeeds in keeping the intricate design details of the scooter away from our eyes, it's apparent that this TVS wants to ape the Honda Activa, which is the indomitable leader of its segment.

We expect the new TVS scooter to be just a new top-hat on the Wego platform. The overall size of the new product is clearly bigger than the Wego, perhaps to target the male audience. If there was anything that restricts the Wego from being considered as a unisex scooter, it has to be its slim physique.

The new scooter is most likely to use the Wego's 110cc engine which is good for 8bhp and 8Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a CVT. The Wego's hardware could mean that the new two wheeler will behave and feel similar to the Wego, which is not something bad all things considered.

The test mule appears near production ready suggesting that we can expect the launch to take place soon. Stay tuned to Indian Autos Blog!
