The sports coupe is expected to go into production in May 2013 at Maserati's plant in Modena. Only 3,500 units are planned out of which 1,200 are earmaked for the US alone.

The Alfa Romeo 4C delivers 237hp from a 1.7L inline four cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and can sprint from 0-100kph in just 4.5 seconds before hitting a top speed in the excess of 155mph (248kph). It uses light weight construction method which keeps the kerb weight at 895 kgs.

There were also speculations that Maserati could be set to capitalize on its affiliations with Alfa and could consequently create its own variant of the 4C.

Nonetheless, the 4C will be the first mass-produced Alfa Romeo to re-enter the US market. The Launch Edition is available in 'Carrara White and (red) Rosso Alfa and comes with an expected Price tag  of 60,000 euros (around Rs. 42.3 lakhs).
