BMW 7 series faceliftBMW India has notified IAB that it will launch the facelifted model of the 7 Series on the 25th of April in Mumbai. The 7 Series LCI has been already previewed to a select number of invitees at the Jodhpur One World Retreat held from March 8-10.

The BMW 7 Series was given a Life-Cycle Impulse (LCI) treatment in July 2012. The facelift came after four years and features cosmetic as well as structural changes to the exterior and interior.

The biggest structural change was the addition of 5.5 inches to the wheelbase. The new car has also been lowered by 8 mm. Other changes include new LED headlamps, changes to the front fascia, updated iDrive, ambient lighting and improved NVH. We doubt there will be any changes made to the engine lineup. It will continue to be powered by a 3 litre turbo-diesel engine good for 246PS/540Nm and three petrol mills. The six speed transmission will be replaced by a new 8-speed box offering faster gear changes and better fuel efficiency.

Prices are expected to get a slight bump because of all the new features. But don’t worry because BMW India has already announced that it will begin a local assembly of the 7 Series by the end of 2013 thus reducing the price tag in the future.
