BMW 7 series facelift jodhpur previewSources have told Indian Autos Blog that BMW India is now gearing up for the launch of the 7 Series facelift (7 Series LCI). BMW previewed the car to an elite group of customers in Jodhpur last month following its association with the 'Jodhpur One World Retreat' as a car partner.

His Highness Maharaja Gaj Singh II of Jodhpur, cricketer and brand ambassador Sachin Tendulkar, and Bollywood bombshell Dia Mirza unveiled the car in a star-studded evening.

The BMW 7 Series facelift is fitted with all-LED headlamps, redesigned kidney grille, new front bumper, and ORVM with integrated indicator. The rear gets a chrome strip bridging the tail lamps. The facelift sits 8 mm lower than the outgoing car. It was revealed globally in mid-2013 and in a phased manner, launched in most global markets.

In the cabin, the 7 Series LCI features new hardware for the iDrive system, redesigned leather seats and individual 9.2 inch screens for rear passengers. BMW hasn’t revealed the powertrain plans, but we reckon the 730d is going to be the most sought-after variant in diesel-loving India.

BMW has started assembling the 7 Series LCI at its CKD plant in Chennai. The luxury limousine will be launched towards the end of April to protect its market share from incoming competition such as Jaguar XJ variants and the all-new S-Class.
