Audi has released a short trailer of the eagerly anticipated Audi A3 sedan which makes its debut at the upcoming Shanghai Auto Show on April 20.

The Audi A3 sedan will be the weapon of choice for the German automaker to outrun the competition in emerging markets like India. The face off between the Mercedes CLA and the Audi A3 would be an interesting battle to watch since both the sedans promise to start something big for their parent companies.
The engines on offer are familiar to VW group patrons. The 1.4 litre and 1.8 litre TSI turbocharged engines burn petrol while the diesel option would be the 2.0 litre TDI. A 6-speed manual or a 7 speed S-Tronic auto transmission would turn the wheels. A much more powerful S3 sedan with a 300 bhp 2.0 litre TFSI petrol motor will also join the lineup later.
The video emphasizes on the sedan's cabin features such as the tastefully crafted aircon vents, a Bang & Olufsen Music system and the Audi MMI infotainment system with a pop-up display and a touch sensitive knob on the center console.
Measuring 4.46m in length and 2.64m in wheelbase, the A3 sedan would be the A4's kid sister. An untrained pair of eyes would be hardpressed to differentiate between the siblings.
Expect the Audi A3 sedan to enter India sometime next year. Audi India needs the services of the A3 and the upcoming Q2 entry-level SUV to become the undisputed champion of the luxury segment by volume.
