The V40 does not receive a facelift as it was launched only last year and the XC90 is being discontinued next year, reason for it not receiving a facelift as well. The Swedish automaker announced that the next gen Volvo XC90 would be here by end of 2014.

The facelifted versions include the S60, XC 60, V60, S80, V70 and XC 70.

The refreshed Volvos now sport a similar front face thanks to the newly designed headlamps. Also on the 60 series cars, the front bumpers and grille have been newly designed as well. LED daytime running lights are now a standard feature in all the updated Volvo's as well.

The interiors have been enhanced as well. The Adaptive Digital Display (ADD) which debuted in the Volvo V40 is now included in the 60 range of cars. The highlight of this system is that it can be configured to three modes – Elegance, Eco and Performance. The instrument console will display only the information relevant to the selected mode.

The other inclusions are pedestrian detection and road sign information systems. In addition the cars get a new 7-inch Sensus connected touch multimedia infotainment system.

The only Volvo to get a mechanical upgrade as such is the S80. Rather a mechanical upgrade, we would term it an engine addition. The four-cylinder D2 diesel engine which makes 115 bhp and boasts of a consumption of just 4.1 l/100 km (24.39km/l) and CO2 emissions of 108 g/km can now be had on the flagship sedan.

The S80 facelift is also available with a 1.6-litre GTDi engine (Ford Ecoboost unit) that provides 180 hp with a fuel consumption of 7.1 l/100 km (14.08km/l) and CO2 emissions of 165 g/km.
