At the Tata Motors' camp, the need of the hour is an onslaught of all new products, one after another in regular intervals.

However an all new product can't come overnight and that is precisely what worries the Indian auto maker. Tata Motors is still sometime away from dishing out something whole new, so in the meanwhile the company is hoping to earn some time by updating its existing products.

The largest Indian automobile manufacturer has been suffering from plummeting sales, thanks to the competition which has something fresher and modern to offer. The Tata Safari Storme is the only new product in the otherwise obsolete or uncompetitive portfolio to the aam admi.

Here is another attempt to infuse some life into an existing product. A test mule of the Tata Indigo eCS facelift was caught testing near Pune by EarthFusion, a reader of Indiancarsbikes.in.

The car features smoked headlamps, a new mesh for the front grill which could have chrome treatment, and a redesigned bumper with new fog lamps. The profile stays untouched but the rear gets a bold chrome strip just above the license plate enclosure.

Indiancarsbikes.in reports that the interior also will be refreshed and equipment like reverse parking sensors would be included.

We expect that the changes will be made only to the parts that meet the eye, the same hardware is likely to continue. The current 1.2 litre 65 bhp petrol engine and the 1.4 litre 70 bhp diesel engine would stay unchanged.

Tata Motors is facelifting the Indigo eCS to shield it against the attack from the incoming Mahindra Verito compact.
