Preceding the launch of the product, manufacturers send prototypes to the dealers to train their sales and service staff. Then come the series production cars that play demo cars and the cars for first deliveries.

We don't know under which category this blue example falls, but we can assure you that the countdown to Honda's most awaited launch since the company's entry into the Indian market has started!

Team-BHP.com fan Rajesh Rao has shared pictures of the Amaze at an Indian dealership in the top-end VX trim level. On a casual glance, there are no distinguishable visual changes between the Indian and Thai-spec vehicles, both feature the same chrome-plated grille and somewhat similar alloy wheels. But look carefully at the images and you'd notice body colored bumpers and the "VX" badge on the boot lid unique to India. The ground clearance of the India-spec Amaze is slightly higher than the Thai model according to the Team-BHP report.

The 1.5L diesel engine's exact specifications are not made known yet, but expect the power output to range between 85-90 bhp. ARAI's fuel efficiency rating for the baby Honda is 23kpl. The petrol option is the same 1.2L which makes 87bhp. Automatic Transmission would be an optional feature, like on the Brio.

Moving to the features the Amaze gets manual air-conditioning, dual airbags, ABS and EBD, rear demister, side mirrors with integrated indicator lamps, arm-rest with integrated cup holders at the rear seat. The boot space is 400 liters and the dashboard is a direct lift out of the Brio.

With strong brand recall, an academic reliability and quality track record, a very fuel efficient diesel motor and excellent interior packaging, the Amaze guns for the Swift Dzire, India's best selling sedan. Should Maruti be concerned?
