As a toddler, those wheeled machinery fascinated me even before I knew what they’re called as! So here I’m, petrolhead by birth, Mechanical engineer by qualification and automotive reporter by profession!
Jeep has commenced its annual roll out of special concepts that would form a part of Jeep Easter Safari, one of America’s largest recreational driving event which is held at Moab, Utah.
[Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk II Concept]
The SUV specialist has unveiled concepts with significant additions that not only adds visual bling but also enhances the Jeeps’ already high off road prowess.
The first of the concepts is the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk II Concept. The car is powered by a EcoDiesel V6 engine. The imposing concept threatens the beholder with its humongous 35″ tires that are wrapped around the 17″ Rubicon alloy wheels. [Jeep Wrangler Mopar Recon Concept]
The second is the Jeep Wrangler Mopar Recon concept which looks set to devastate everything on its way with the 6.4 litre HEMI V8 under the hood. The 470 bhp of power goes to all the wheels via a 5-speed automatic transmission and Dana 60 axles. The concept employs 4.5″ prototype long arm suspension kit and comes shod with prototype eight-lug bead lock wheels.
[Jeep Wrangler Stitch Concept]
The Jeep Wrangler Stitch focuses on being light. Thanks to the alloy roll cages and and extensive use of carbon fiber elements, the Stitch tips the scale at 1.6 tonnes. The concept matches Grand Chrokee SRT in terms of power to weight ratio. The capable off roader comes with DanyTrac Pro Rock 44 axles and ARB air differential rocks.
