2012 Honda CR-V Modulo KitSoon after launching the all-new Honda CR-V in India, Honda has introduced it in Malaysia. For a price of RM 148,800 (approx 26.04 lakhs), you can drive it with the 2.0-litre SOHC i-VTEC engine that makes 155PS @ 6,500 rpm and 190 Nm of torque @ 4,300 rpm.

Most of features of the Indian CR-V are featured on the Malaysian model as well. Even in Malaysia, the CR-V will be offered via a CKD operation. However, something very interesting is being served to the Malaysian customers that we usually don't get.

Honda has launched a host of accessories for the 2012 CR-V under the ‘Modulo’ brand in Malaysia.

Honda Malaysia has always offered a ‘Modulo Kit’ with every new launch. In Malaysia, the Modulo kit only enhances the car in the styling department and does not touch the driveline. In the past, we have seen Modulo kits of Brio, Amaze, Jazz and even the old Civic.

The Honda CR-V gets four different Modulo packs – Alpha, Beta, Utility and Urban. Each pack gets its own set of accessories.

The Alpha Package gets –

  • Tailgate Spoiler
  • Front Aero Bumper
  • Rear Aero Bumper
  • Running Board

The Beta Package gets -

  • Tailgate Spoiler
  • Running Board
  • Door visor
  • Front Grill
  • Side step garnish LED

The Utility Package gets -

  • Front and Rear foot lights
  • Exhaust pipe finisher
  • Door visor
  • Cargo net
  • Cargo tray
  • Side Step Garnish LED
  • Tonneau Cover

The Urban Package gets -

  • Tailgate Spoiler
  • Front & Rear Foot lights
  • Running Board
  • Exhaust Pipe Finisher
  • Door visor with Chrome
  • Cargo Net
  • Cargo Tray
  • Side Step Garnish LED
  • Tonneau Cover

Although accessories are very tempting, the Modulo kit somehow does not enhance the look of the CR-V. Previous kits of the Amaze and the Brio were definitely worth the money. This kit makes the CR-V look a bit awkward, don't you think?
