We at IndianAutosBlog have witnessed an increase in Indica XL spottings. With each spotting, we’re trying a lot to figure out what sort of a body style the Indica XL is going to be. Will it be an Indigo XL missing a boot or is it something else?

Take these latest spy shots for example. Sent from ardent Indian Autos Blog fan and reader Ashwin Ram, this test mule was spotted in Coimbatore. Ashwin says that he spotted the CR4 badges on the front fender (as shown in the image) and it immediately suggests what this long wheelbase Indica would be powered by. Ashwin has also noticed a few peculiar things that stand out on this test mule:

An interesting thing I noticed was the see through mesh on the camouflage covering the roof of the car, just like the one for the rear glass visible in these pictures. Does it have a sunroof on the top?

The central AC panel on the dashboard had a vertical rectangular silver band of about an inch thick, other than which the dashboard looked pretty much the same design and finish.

Couldn't get the look of the passenger compartment as it was intentionally darkened.

A third row of seats on the Indica would certainly make sense given that such a market exists in India. Even when we spoke to Mr. Ashesh Dhar, Head of Tata Utility Vehicles, inquiring about the Indica XL, he was of the opinion that such a potential existed.

With Veritos becoming shorter and Indicas becoming longer, 2013 will definitely be a fun year to witness in the Indian auto market.
