Toyota Etios has started off poorly in Brazil despite the Japanese car maker having a strong brand value.

To start with, the Brazilians were not impressed by the looks and eventually ended up shopping elsewhere. That explains why Etios hatchback has been losing badly to the stylish Hyundai HB20 and the richly equipped Chevrolet Onix.
In fact the the HB20 outsold Etios hatchback by almost four folds in Brazil in the month of November. The news that the sedans based on the HB20 and Onix (Prisma sedan) being in the works comes as a big blow to the Etios sedan in Brazil.

Here are the videos of the Etios twins' Brazilian TV commercial. The ad films emphasize on the cars' highlights such as the powerful AC, spacious interiors, the hatchback's fuel economy of 12 kmpl (in Ethanol blended fuel) and the sedan's 0-100 kmph acceleration time of 11.4 seconds.
The Etios twins' exterior and interior look dull in comparison to that of its competitors and Toyota might want to advance the launch of next generation models and infuse more character and quality. Not only in Brazil but also in India!
