A VW Up! driven by German driver Ronny Wechselberger has entered the Guinness book of world records for successfully executing the tightest parallel parking.

Ronny managed to break Mini Cooper's previous record by spectacularly slotting the 3.54 metre long car into 3.68 metre gap, which means he just had 14 cm of room for error! That's some stupendous parking stunt!

Five door VW UP! frontThe previous record held by the pilot of the Mini was 15 cm!

The VW Up! which won the coveted World Car Of The Year (WCOTY) award for the year 2012 is very much appreciated for its ample interior space in spite of having a compact footprint. The urban runabout has the quality to match the bigger global models and VW is testing the emerging market variant of the car in Brazil and test mules have been spotted several times in India as well.

The car has a 1.0-litre petrol motor which is available in two states of tune developing 65 bhp and 75 bhp. VW India still seems unprepared to bring the all important Up! here since that company needs 90% localization to start off with a competitive price tag.
