Hyundai Eon LPGHyundai Eon which was specifically developed for India has been launched in Chile.

Hyundai Eon sits at the bottom of Hyundai's portfolio in Chile which is expected to get an extensive lineup of Hyundais in the coming year. The Eon sells in reasonable numbers in India but it was actually touted to trump the best selling Alto but hasn't quite matched the original expectations.

The Hyundai Eon is based on the proven Santro Xing's platform but the South Korean automaker did an impressive job of modernizing the car inside out. The interior of the car easily feels the best in its class. And while the exterior is funky, we personally think that its a bit overdone.

The small car measures 3,495 mm with a wheelbase of 2,380 mm making it a compact city runabout. The Eon is powered by a 0.8 litre three cylinder petrol motor which is essentially Santro's 1.1 mill sans a cylinder.

The motor puts out 55.2 bhp and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The light weight hatchback has an ARAI certified fuel economy of 21.1 kmpl.

The Chileans get the Eon in two variants which offer driver side airbag, CD player with aux in and ipod connectivity, body colored bumpers, spoilers and foglamps as standard. The high end comes with air conditioning, power windows and central locking.
