Spied – All new Skoda Octavia Combi sighted in Chile
Kaustubh Shinde, They say sooner or later your passion finds you. Sometime in late 2009, I started writing for IAB and ever since then it has been a roller coaster ride for me. An amazing experience that has taught me a lot, taken me to new places, driven some great cars and met some amazing people. When you don't find me on IAB (very rarely), you will find me either at a coffee shop or an eatery or at the nearest gadget store. Hope you enjoy IAB as much as we do!
The all new Skoda Octavia is literally knocking on our doorstep. Skoda is ready to unveil the all new Octavia on 9th of this December in Prague. But soon before its official unveil, a Combi version (a.k.a station wagon) version of the all new Skoda Octavia was spotted without any camouflage on the public roads of Santiago, Chile.
The Skoda Octavia Combi (also called as Skoda Octavia Estate) is a very important variant of the Skoda Octavia lineup. Station wagon versions may not be very popular in India, but in Europe and America a station wagon is a must have for people who are starting a new family. They offer utmost practicality and maximum space without compromising too much on driving dynamics.
By the looks of things, the Skoda Octavia Combi has certainly gotten a bit bigger than its predecessor. This was quite expected because the Octavia sedan itself (on which the wagon is based) has outgrown its predecessor by approximately 100 mm. In fact, it is visually almost as big as the Skoda Superb Combi ( a station wagon version of the Skoda Superb). Sadly frontal photos are missing from the spyshot gallery.
Expect the Skoda Octavia Combi to debut along with the sedan in Prague. The official unveil will happen at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in the beginning of March.
Skoda India tried selling the Octavia Combi in India however sales were too slow to concentrate on this body style. Eventually, Skoda India had to pull the plug on the Octavia Combi. We are aware that the Skoda Octavia will head to the Indian shores to replace the aging Laura.
Should Skoda India bring back the Skoda Combi to the Indian shores?
