Mugen takes a shot at the 2013 Honda CR-V
They say sooner or later your passion finds you. Sometime in late 2009, I started writing for IAB and ever since then it has been a roller coaster ride for me. An amazing experience that has taught me a lot, taken me to new places, driven some great cars and met some amazing people. When you don’t find me on IAB (very rarely), you will find me either at a coffee shop or an eatery or at the nearest gadget store.
Hope you enjoy IAB as much as we do!
Those horsepower crazy blokes are at it again!
Mugen, Honda’s in-house tuning company, has released the first set of images of the Mugen CR-V Design Study – essentially the new Honda CR-V with a lot more power!
Expected to be revealed at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show, the Mugen CR-V features –
- A new front grille with a huge brushed aluminum bar
- A new front bumper
- A fake skid plate
- Chrome fender trims
- Wider side skirts
- Sporty alloy wheels
- New rear bumper with stacked exhaust outlets
- A roof spoiler
And all these blingy add-ons make it look like a something Jay Z would drive to an award ceremony.
Very little is known about the interior and the performance output. But expect the suspension to be lowered and the engine to be tuned to its maximum capacity.
More details on Mugen’s new baby will be revealed at the Tokyo Auto Salon in mid-January.
Coming to Honda’s version of the CR-V and its impending introduction to the Indian market, we are hopeful of Honda announcing the new model in February, however only with a petrol engine. Unless the CR-V is not put on a diesel diet, sales may not head northwards.
