India-made VW Polo sedan debuts in Saudi Arabia

Volkswagen has showcased the VW Polo sedan (called as Vento in India) at the recently concluded Riyadh Motor Show in Saudi Arabia.
The LHD car made its Saudi Arabian debut at the Riyadh Motor Show. The VW Polo sedan is already available in some parts of the Middle East.
With the introduction of the Polo sedan, VW has presented their entire sedan portfolio in Saudi Arabia.
The Polo sedan which is sold in the Middle East is manufactured in VW India’s Chakan plant alongside the Indian Vento. VW India is exporting the VW Polo sedan to African and Middle Eastern countries.
The Saudi Arabia spec Polo sedan will be the same as the one which is being shipped to rest of the Middle East. The sedan is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol motor which is available in the Indian Vento.
The normally aspirated motor churns out 104 bhp of power and 153 Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission which is also available in the Indian Vento.
The Saudi Arabia bound car will be richly equipped. Features like ABS, airbags, reverse parking sensors, keyless entry, automatic climate control, music system with USB connectivity, etc are available as standard.
The Polo sedan will be the most affordable sedan in the range and will be a working class man’s steed in the splendidly rich Arabian kingdom.
