The Polo BlueGT is powered by the 1.4 litre TSI petrol engine which generates 138 bhp and a more than adequate torque of 250 Nm. The motor gives the Polo BlueGT a 0-100 sprint time of just 7.9 seconds and a top whack of 210 kmph.

The engine is equipped with cylinder deactivation system which shuts down the second and third cylinders when the car is at light or medium load, resulting in improved fuel economy of around 2 kmpl. The cylinder deactivation system along with start/stop system enables the Polo BlueGT to return a very respectable fuel economy of 21.7 kmpl and CO2 emission of 107 g/km.

The super efficient hot hatch is available with 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DSG transmission. VW claims that when the car is driven at a steady speed of 50 kmph, the fuel economy could be improved to as much as 27 kmpl! Steady 70 kmpl would be good enough for 25.6 kmpl.

On the looks front, Polo BlueGT borrows design elements from both Polo GTi and Polo BlueMotion. The bumpers, LED day time running lights, rear spoiler and instrument console are from the Polo GTi while the side sills and front windshield rain channels are form the Polo BlueMotion.

The Polo BlueGT comes with electronic differential lock, cruise control and audio system with ipod and Bluetooth connectivity. New 'blue silk' exterior colour option is available.

The VW Polo BlueGT is available with a starting price tag of £ 17,400 (Rs. 15 lakhs).
