Only yesterday we brought you all the details of the facelifted Mercedes E Class that is in-the-works for a while now.

2014 Mercedes E63 AMG

Today we have a definitive image of what is in store for us when the model is revealed to the world next year.

Thanks to Mr. Víctor Gutiérrez, a reader of Autofacil, we bring you the facelifted Mercedes E Class caught without any camouflage at the Chamartín hotel in Madrid. We are assuming that Mercedes were probably shooting a TV commercial of the facelift.

Looking at the sporty alloy wheels with red brake calipers, the bolder exterior and the blackened roof, we can safely deduce that this is the sporty E63 AMG variant. Of course, it will not carry a 6.3L engine but a smaller 5.5L biturbo engine due to the emission norms.

The styling changes are very comprehensive for a mid-life facelift. Clearly, it has ditched the dual barrel headlamps for a single (and here is some blasphemy) ‘Fluidic’ headlamp design. It also features re-styled bumpers, doors and fenders.

The biggest news for now revealed by Autofacil.es is the availability of a Renault sourced 130PS 1.6L DCi engine in the 2013 lineup. We have covered all other speculative details of the facelift thoroughly here.

The global debut of the Mercedes E Class facelift is scheduled on 13th of April at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show.
