VW Polo sedan Middle EastVW has launched the India made Vento in the Middle East but it’ll call it as the Polo. There won’t be any confusion since the hatchback version of Polo is no longer sold there.

The Vento may be considered as an executive sedan in India, but it’ll be a working class man’s car in the SUV loving part of the world.

The Polo sedan carries the updates such as the black headlamp units which the Vento got few weeks ago.

The LHD model will be built alongside the Vento at VW’s Chakan plant in Maharashtra. We reported earlier this year that the first LHD Vento being rolled out from this plant, and the exports to Africa and the Middle East will commence in the second half of 2012.

The Middle East bound Polo sedan will be powered by the same 1.6 litre 104 Bhp petrol motor which does the duty in the Vento and will be mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The model will be available in two variants with electric controls for OVRM, central locking with remote, audio system, fog lamps, 15” alloy wheels, ABS and dual airbags as standard features. In addition, the top variant will get parking sensors and climate control.

The sales of the Polo sedan is expected to begin later this month.
