Nissan e-NV200 Panel Van Concept is Evalia’s sinister cousin
Kaustubh Shinde, They say sooner or later your passion finds you. Sometime in late 2009, I started writing for IAB and ever since then it has been a roller coaster ride for me. An amazing experience that has taught me a lot, taken me to new places, driven some great cars and met some amazing people. When you don't find me on IAB (very rarely), you will find me either at a coffee shop or an eatery or at the nearest gadget store. Hope you enjoy IAB as much as we do!
Nissan has revealed a teaser image of a very exciting concept set to debut at the IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover.
Called the Nissan e-NV200 Panel Van Concept, it is like a sinister cousin of the Nissan Evalia that will debut in the Indian market in the next few weeks.
Specific details are hard to come by but it will get its juice from a lithium-ion battery pack and an electric motor that produces 107 hp and 280 Nm of torque.
We think that Nissan e-NV200 Panel Van Concept will be successor to the to the e-NV200 which featured a Leaf’s front fascia grafted on the NV200 commercial van. The Nissan e-NV200 is envisioned as an eco-friendly van for commercial uses. Nissan plans to put $126 million into producing the e-NV200 which is stated to hit the stands in 2014.
The regular humdrum cousin – Nissan Evalia – will debut in India either in late September or early October.
Nissan India wants to pitch the Evalia as a premium product for someone with an active lifestyle. Indian will get a 1.5L DCi motor that generates 85PS and 200 NM of torque mated to a 5 speed manual.
Pricing will be key for Nissan Evalia if it hopes to dethrone the Toyota Innova as the segment leader.
