Astra Daihatsu Motors (ADM), the Indonesian subsidiary of Toyota owned Daihatsu, has unveiled an all new Indonesia specific concept vehicle at the ongoing Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS 2012).

Named as UFC, which stands for Ultra Functional Compact, the crossover MPV is said to have engineered by ADM after a careful study of customers’ needs in Indonesia.

The UFC has a long wheelbase to maximize space and short front and rear overhang to minimize the overall length. The crossover has three rows of seats with flexible adjustability and can accommodate six people in comfort.

The concept has sliding doors at the rear like the Ford B-Max and the Daihatsu designers eliminated the B pillar for easy entry and exit. The UFC sports usual concept gimmicks like LED lights, over-sized alloy wheels and fancy scruff plates at both the ends, but looks like any other existing crossover MPV.

The interior is finished in white plastic with blue inserts and looks like its miles away from the production form. The central console is a big touchscreen which is doubtful to be carried out to the production version. There is a Jaguar style dial to select the transmission mode and the car gets paddle shifters.

ADM says that the car "is surprisingly convenient and can be used in a range of living conditions in Indonesia".

Considering that Daihatsu shares its cars with Toyota, this concept could give rise to the next gen Daihatsu Xenia and Toyota Avanza.

From there, we can derive connections for the next generation Toyota Avanza to be one of the eight products that will be based the Etios' OBE platform.
