In fact, the Chevy Sail has broken all the previous IAB spyshot records and we literally begin our days with few pictures of the Sail test mules waiting for us in our inbox.

Different colors, different states, in city traffic or in highway, you name it and we got it! The latest one was spotted in Chennai by our keen reader Mr. Giridhar Radhakrishnan and Aravindh Ganesh. This just shows how expectant IAB readers are, about the Sail and we extend our sincere thanks to all of them who have either sent the spy pictures already or going to send it in the days to come!

GM India could have actually kept many prying eyes off its soon-to-be launched, Aveo U-VA replacement had they abandoned the so called camouflaging stripes!

Coming to the product, enough is said about the powertrain options and the interior, but a quick recap is always helpful. The Chevrolet Sail U-VA will be powered by 1.2 litre petrol and the famous 1.3 litre Multijet diesel motor which was originally developed when GM had ties with Fiat. This engine, as you all know, powers at least a dozen other Indian cars.

Engineers at GM India’s Bangalore technical centre have worked in localizing the components in order to price the Sail U-VA at a very competitive level. Come October and we will know how competitive the price is.
