Renault Scala renderingLate last week, we brought you the first ever spy-shots of Renault Scala published on AutoCarIndia.com - Renault’s contender in the mid-size sedan segment. We like what we see; but the images being candid shots, we see very less.

Our in-house rendering specialist SRK said he knew exactly how the Renault Scala would look. He then claimed he has managed to bring a comprehensive rendering of Renault's new mid-size sedan that launches in India in the next few weeks.

Renault’s Mumbai design center has done an excellent job of transforming the Nissan Sunny’s front and rear fascia. Unlike the Sunny, which looks a bit of a simpleton, the Scala looks very animated. The headlamps sway nicely into the front fascia, very reminiscent of the Fiat Viaggio.

It gets Renault’s trademark hexagonal grill which is also present on the Pulse. A little bit of chrome on the front fascia makes it look up market. The fog lamp surrounds are engraved on the front bumper.

The interior spy shots reveal that nothing has been changed in the Nissan Sunny’s interior apart from a Renault badge on the steering wheel. We also don’t expect any changes, at all, to the mechanicals of the Sunny, as it becomes a Scala.

If the strategy followed on the Renault Pulse was anything to go by, we expect the Scala’s diesel avatar to hit the market first with the 1.5L K9K mill. The petrol avatar will hit the market later, but take this information with a pinch of salt.

Renault has invited Indian Autos Blog for the presentation and drive of the Scala on the 23rd and 24th of August. We promise to get you all the updates from the event. So stay tuned!
