Unlike in India where its only Maruti Suzuki experimenting with special editions, UK and manufacturers operating in the UK love special edition models.

Every now and then, we see special editions gracing the UK market. Special editions, if done nicely, increment sales and help bring cheer and vibrancy into the lineup.

This time, Elle, the famous fashion magazine has collaborated Nissan to bring out the Nissan Micra Elle.

Nissan Micra Elle additions

  • Panoramic glass roof
  • Chromed accents to the lower part of the grille
  • Chrome interior door handles
  • 15-inch titanium grey alloy wheels
  • Fog lamps and a roof spoiler
  • New seat fabric covering
  • Elle badges on the tailgate and front wings, front floor mats and front door guards

There are three colours available for this special edition - Shiraz Red, Alabaster White and Atlas Blue. Nissan Connect, the integrated satellite navigation and infotainment system, is also available as an option.

Mechanically there are no improvements to the new Micra variant. The 1.2-liter petrol engine with 79 hp, or a more powerful 1.2-liter DIG-S petrol unit that develops 96 hp, power the car. The Nissan Micra Elle will be produced in a limited run of 500 units priced from £12,000 (approx 12.52 lakhs).

What I really like about this special edition Micra is the fact that Elle magazine did not make it too old-school feminine. It wasn’t spattered with pink or glitter to appeal to the fairer sex.

It appeals to the modern woman with its intelligent and convenient features such as climate control, Keyless entry, push button start, electrically heated and folding door mirrors and cruise control.

We give this one a thumbs up!
